Cranberry Almond Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients

  1. 1-7 oz box Odense Almond Paste
  2. 1 unbaked 9" pie shell
  3. 5 baking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  4. 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
  5. 1/4 cup sugar
  6. 1 tsp cinnamon, divided
  7. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  8. 1/2 cup uncooked rolled oats
  9. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  10. 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  11. 6 Tbsp cold butter, in 1/2" pieces
This pie combines the two classic autumn flavors of apple and cranberry.

25 minutes to assemble
50-60 minutes to bake

Yield

Serves 8

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Roll almond paste between 2 sheets of wax paper to form a 8"-9" circle.
  3. Lightly press the disk of almond paste into the bottom of the pie shell. Mix together in a bowl the apples, cranberries, sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  4. Pour mixture into the pie shell.
  5. In a bowl, combine the remaining cinnamon, flour, oats, brown sugar, and almonds.
  6. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until crumbs are formed.
  7. Spoon crumb mixture evenly over filling.
  8. Bake 50-60 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
