Almond Strawberry Oat Bars

Ingredients

  1. 1-7 oz box Odense Almond Paste, grated
  2. 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) salted butter, cut into small pieces
  3. 1 1/2 cups whole oats
  4. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  6. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  7. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  9. 1-12 oz jar strawberry jam
  10. 1 cup chopped strawberries
Odense Almond Paste and a sweet strawberry filling add new dimension to oat bars in this easy to prepare recipe.

25 minutes to assemble
30-35 minutes to cook
Total time: 55-60 minutes

1-9 X 13 inch baking dish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9 X 13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add Almond Paste, butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt to a large bowl. Toss with spoon or fingers until ingredients are incorporated. Cut into small crumbs, using a pastry blender. Press 3 cups of almond paste mixture into prepared pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix jam and strawberries until spreadable. Evenly spread jam mixture over crust and cover with remaining almond paste mixture.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until light brown. Cool on wire rack and cut into squares.
