All you need is a box of Odense Marzipan and some food coloring.
Before starting, remember these helpful tips:
- Color marzipan with food coloring. Remember. A little goes a long way.
- Wrap unused portions in plastic wrap for future projects.
- You can make one big ducky or many little duckies from just one box of marzipan.
- Find us in your supermarket’s baking aisle, or use our Store Finder.
1. For our ducky’s body, knead a drop of yellow food coloring into a golfball-sized piece of the marzipan. A little food coloring goes a long way! Form the marzipan into a ball and then form a tail.
2. Shape two small flat wings in proportion to the shape of the body.
3. Gently press the two wings onto the body.
4. Dye a bit more marzipan yellow for the ducky’s head. Form into a ball. With a butter knife, make a slot to insert the duck’s bill.
5. Form the duck’s bill using orange marzipan. Make two small discs and press gently together. Form into a more oval, bill shape.
6. Place the bill into the hole. Gently form the yellow marzipan around the bill to close the gap.
7. Dye a tiny piece of marzipan black and make two small eyes.
8. Place the eyes on the ducky’s head.
9. Ta da!
