Caramel Almond Treats
Ingredients
- 8 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted
- 1-7 oz box Odense Almond Paste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 - 14 oz pkg caramels
- Optional: 1-12 oz package Chocolate Melting Wafers

Directions
- Mix cereal and almonds in a large bowl. Lightly grease baking dish. Unwrap the caramels.
- Grate Almond Paste (using large hole side of box grater).
- Add Almond Paste, 1/4 cup water and caramels to a heavy bottomed saucepan. Cook over a low to medium heat. Stir frequently until mixture is melted and smooth.
- Immediately pour caramel/almond mixture over cereal. Mix well.
- Spoon into baking dish, pressing top evenly to sides with buttered wax paper or a greased spatula.
- Chill 10 minutes and cut into squares. Drizzle with melted chocolate, if desired.
